1.To interpret and establish customer design requirements and deliver design assumptions suitable for the customer need. 2.To produce and release CAD models and drawings in a format suitable for use both internally and by the customer. 3.To develop designs with regard to customer requirements such as fit and function whilst ensuring specifications are met and manufacturing best practice is observed (DFA, QFD etc.). 4.To perform tolerance analysis with regard to available manufacturing technology. 5.To analyse systems and components from initial feasibility to finished design. 6.To communicate with prototype and production suppliers (internally & externally) to ensure that design intent is achieved. 7.Participates in design reviews throughout product life. 8.Perform or assist in the analysis of components and systems through techniques such as FEA to confirm integrity and performance. 9.Leads cross functional teams in discussions related to design and specification issues and participates at other times. 10.Communicates with the customer with regard to technical and design issues. 11.Assists the product engineer in achieveing customer expectations within program timings. 12.Assists in the preparation and update of DFMEAs. 13.Assess and documents SCs with respect to fit, function and legal requirements 14.Assists with product testing and problem resolution at all stages of product life. 15.Prepares and release Engineering BOMs. 16.Ensures Engineering design information is documented, recorded and stored for future reference. 17.Must have experiance of SDRC I-deas C3P.
Education; Minimum HND, ideally Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience; Minimum of 2 years related experience in a similar field (Mechanical design including CAD or FEA : MUST be automotive)
